Fisher Veterans Forum 2008

 Ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen invited to Fisher Veterans Forum 2008

Shadow Minister for Veterans Affairs, Mrs Louise Markus MP, is a confirmed guest at the Fisher Veterans Forum 2008, Member for Fisher Peter Slipper announced today (15 October 2008).

Mr Slipper said the Forum would provide an opportunity for ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen to gain information on topics of interest to the local veteran community.

"There are some 4300 veterans living in the Electorate of Fisher - they make up a significant section of the community which has made significant sacrifices for their country," Mr Slipper said.

"The forum represents an opportunity to address key issues affecting veterans, to receive their comments and to hear their concerns."

Along with Mrs Markus, Deputy President of the Queensland RSL, Mr Terry Meehan has also confirmed his attendance at the forum.

The Fisher Veterans Forum 2008 will be held on Friday, November 21 at the Caloundra RSL, 19 West Terrace, Caloundra.

The forum will be accompanied by a number of displays and afternoon tea will be served. RSVPs are essential for catering purposes and can be made to Mr Slipper's office on 07 - 5443 3555.
